Food Bank Program

In Uganda, most of the families lie below poverty line totaling to 75% and they depend on subsistence agriculture. In Uganda we have 2 planting season, March and July but sometimes the food harvested cannot sustain our people throughout the year to the next harvesting season. With the challenge of Covid-19, poor people have been greatly affected.

The SODAC Organization has come up with this food aid proposal to help the poor people, windows and elderly. We expect to distribute food packs and also feed them.

We extend our sincere thanks for your kind consideration of our proposal. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any requirements. It is important to note that the holy book (Bible) states that whosoever shall give in this period, he shall have a house in the Heaven.

Purpose of the Project:

SODAC organization hopes that this project will
1. provide food packs to the widows, elderly people, orphans and people with disability.
2. provide maize flour, rice, sugar, soap, salt, cooking oil and beans.

Beneficiary Selection
As 68% of the Ugandan population is living under the poverty line, there is a need to identify other criteria in order to identify the most vulnerable population (“the poorest of the poor”) of our targeted area. The vulnerability criteria will therefore be the following:

1. Female headed families
2. People with disabilities
3. People with chronic disease
4. Families with a high number of children and no regular source of income
5. Orphaned children families
6. Families breadwinners living with HIVAIDs
7. Widows

Specific Objective:
To improve the food security status of most vulnerable drought affected families within Sironko.

Expected results:
1. Families will receive food packs.
2. Photos will be taken
3. Video recordings

Food Bank Distribution

We are excited about the work that is being done in Uganda to improve the nutritional status of young children. We are increasing access to education and promoting healthy behaviors through training on water, sanitation and hygiene. We are empowering families and communities to overcome poverty and become self-sustaining. One way our team in Uganda is accomplishing this is by promoting the importance of primary education.
